The bylaws of AWAKE Community Church (Article 2) stipulate that the church shall have Boards, and empowers the Lead Pastor to not only select the leadership of all boards, but empowers him to convene them and require their services and advice as necessary. The bylaws give the church a church council and four boards, which serve as an advisory panel only, and gives the power to create boards to the Lead Pastor.
