My Story
Pastor Desiree Q Kitchen, is the Lead Pastor and First Lady of AWAKE Community Church. She is also the Church Administrator, where she overseas and coordinate the financial and operational affairs of the church. Pastor Kitchen has a heart to serve the people of God and the community. She was born August 24, 1981 to Pamela Harris. Her story, is the story that empowers and encourages women everywhere. From a powerhouse in the streets to a powerhouse in the pulpit. her ascension in the church is the incredible testimony that God can and will use who he desires, to fulfill his purpose. On June 8, 2008, Pastor Kitchen and Bishop Kitchen began dating and were engaged and on July 14, 2009, they we're joined in holy matrimony. Together, they have six beautiful children. Pastor Kitchen was licensed to preach the gospel by her husband and was elevated to Co-Lead Pastor of AWAKE Community Church by Apostle Stephen O. Howard on January 8, 2018 and in May 2024, she will be elevated to Lead Pastor of AWAKE Community Church by Bishop Antwon Kitchen.

Pastor Kitchen continues to grow daily and be a light to young women all over. Her recent launch of Let Your Hair Down Thursdays, is an outlet that challenges the potential of women and encourages them by giving them a voice
